Walkerville’s boxer wins bout by points decisions

Walkerville’s rising star, Donjuan van Heerden, recently recorded yet another triumph during a sensational bout at the ESPN headquarters.

Middleweight champ Donjuan van Heerden gave audiences at the ESPN headquarters a very impressive appearance during his bout on July 28.

Donjuan outfought Western Cape boxer Dillon Solomons and claimed his well-deserved win.

Fighting in the middleweight division in a four-round non-title fight, the dynamic boxer won all the rounds and took the fight by a point decision.

Donjuan, who had made his third appearance on ESPN, attributed long hours of preparation for his fitting victory.
He said he boxed with a broken knuckle, with his lead hand knuckle badly damaged and hurt it even more as the fight continued.

“The fight was great, I enjoyed every moment in the ring as I outfought my opponent and won all the rounds. No one will outwork me, I will train harder, jump further and push my body to its limits. I will become a world champion in the next few years. I normally knock my opponents out, but it is always a good thing to go an extra mile,” said Donjuan.

He said that is how ring intelligence quotient and ring experience are built.

“So leading up to the fight, I just want to give all the glory to God, He makes it possible for me to wake up every morning and pursue my dreams and turn them into a reality through my hard work. And I believe that my real purpose on earth is to win hearts for Jesus one day,” he explained.

Donjuan admitted he was very confident in winning, because of his hard camp and having been underestimated by few people.

“That’s one thing about me, tell me I can’t and I will show you that I will. I’m a very competitive type of person, once I have something to prove, I will use it to motivate and push myself harder. For this reason, my boxing career will become a huge success,” he said.

He assured that he will be back on ESPN this year to secure another victory, which will build up his experience as he guns for international level.

He also thanked his boxing manager Colleen McAusland for her continuous support.
