Pastor FC loses against KuVukiland

KVK stings Pastor FC.

AN electrifying and nail-biting encounter between two u-15 soccer giants of Lawley kept supporters on the edge of their seats.

Pastor FC and KuVukiland (KVK) battled things out on August 24, with their last encounter taking place last year October, with KVK taking the bragging rights with a 3-2 win.

Home steam Pastor FC wanted to start the match at a high tempo to impress their supporters.

In the first 15 minutes or so, KVK was in sixes and sevens as Pastor controlled the match and dominated in all forms of play.

KVK is locally known for playing one-two football, but the home side didn’t provide them that freedom.

KVK proved to be a tough nut for Pastor FC to crack.

Mlungisi Makhunga nearly opened the scoring for Pastor as he danced himself inside KVK’s 18 yards to send his shot over the bar.

It wasn’t long before Pastor’s striker, Zinhle Khumalo, pulled himself out of KVK’s defence to loop in a ball which was cleared of the line by KVK defence.

KVK struggled to bridge Pastor’s defence, but they were fortunate to get a penalty.

KVK striker Mashro Moloi stood up to get his penalty saved by Pastor’s shot-stopper, Siyabonga Zulu.

Going into the interval, Pastor should have been up with two goals, but they played with chances in front of goals.

In the second half, KVK was all over Pastor’s chargers as they now dominated possession, building their attack in the middle of the park.

KVK’s one-two touches proved to crack Pastor’s defence, which resulted in the visitors scoring the first goal of the match thanks to Thabo Ndlovu.

Pastor struggled to come back as KVK capitalised on Pastor’s sloppiness and lack of creativity to double their lead to 2-0, with Nstmbi Baloyi putting it in the back of the net.
