High noon for development fighters

High quality boxing at High Noon on April 8.

ALBERTON and southern boxing talent will be on display at High Noon on April 8.

The development of boxers is taking a relatively high priority when it comes to Golden Gloves Promotions and African Ring promoter Jeff Ellis.

For the tournament, he handpicked development boxers who mainly hail from Alberton and the southern suburb areas.

These boxers will showcase their talents at Emperors Palace on Sunday, starting at 2pm.

Newly acquired Leron Myles from Box Office, under the watchful eye of Anton Gilmore, will do battle against Tshilidzi Mulaudzi in the cruiserweight division over four rounds.

Myles, who took up his professional career in 2014, has a boxing record that reads five bouts, won three and lost two. However, Mulaudzi will enter the ring with one loss, thus Myles will be up against an opponent who would like to better his record early in his career.

When Sydney Maluleka and Lerato Dlamini step into the ring for the main fight at High Noon, the pugilists will sit back and put their money on one of these two boxers as they fight for the vacant WBC international featherweight belt.

They will face each other for 12 rounds and the winner will take it all as WBC belts don’t come easily and it’s the title that will take you to the upper circles in the world of boxing.

The main supporting fight will bring Golden Gloves development boxer Lucky Monyebane and Sibusiso Zingange closer to their dream when they fight for the Gauteng title over 10 rounds.

Monyebane has seven fights to his credit, losing two of them while the more experienced Zingange recorded 16 bouts, 11 wins, lost three, draw one with one no contest.

Antonelle Maree from Eldorado Park, who trains at Raymond Serfontein gymnasium in Mulbarton, will be in action over four rounds in the cruiserweight division against Julian Cooke from Anton Gilmore’s Box Office gymnasium.

Michael Markram will take on Karabo Mokupi over four rounds in the light heavyweight division.

In the six-rounder, Marcel Botha will take on Wynand Mulder in the middleweight division to wrap up the six-bout tournament.
