Jay-Jay Okocha is widely regarded as the best Nigerian player of his generation and one of the greatest African players of all time. In Bundesliga, his football career took off when he joined Eintracht Frankfurt in 1992 and he played for four years there.

During his career in Bundesliga, Okocha scored a famous goal for Frankfurt against Karlsruher SC beating legendary goalkeeper Oliver Kahn on August 31, 1993. Fans remember seeing Jay-Jay coming on as a second-half substitute for Frankfurt. He dribbled past the entire defence, including Khan, several times before slotting the ball into the net to make it 3-1 for his team. The goal was voted by a myriad of football magazines as the goal of the season.

“We are very excited that we can bring Jay-Jay Okocha, the Bundesliga Legend, to South Africa and I believe that football fans will enjoy the wonderful Bundesliga matches together with the legend,” said John Yan, CEO of StarSat.

“As the Bundesliga’s official broadcaster in South Africa, StarSat will continue to offer the best matches of FC Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and the other Bundesliga clubs on our sports channels.”
