Learners enjoy day at racecourse

Peermont Emperors Palace CSI activation took place at Turffontein Racecourse.

THE main purpose of the Peermont Emperors Palace CSI projects is to raise funds via the annual Charity Mile at Turffontein Racecourse.

In support of each of the 16 charities on race day, CSI activation takes place with some of the schools.

This year was no exception, as Nageng Primary was invited to Turffontein Racecourse.

Learners enjoyed a variety of activities, including pony or horse rides, to create awareness of these beautiful animals.

The Peermont Emperors Palace CSI activation took place on November 1 at Turffontein Racecourse.

The learners also met Carol Tshabalala, the celebrity at the Charity Mile.

The R1-million prize money will be allocated to the 16 charities according to the order in which the racehorses finished.

First prize of R150 000 goes to the winning charity, and from fifth to the last place each charity will take home R50 000.

The bumper summer season at Turffontein Racecourse opened with the Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile on November 4 and culminates in one of the biggest racing events in South Africa, the R2-m Sansui Summer Cup on November 25.
