Sir John Adamson rugby players excel

The school had seven girls who were selected to represent the Golden Lions at the SA Rugby Girls Youth Week tournaments.

GIRLS’ rugby at Sir John Adamson High School is growing from strength to strength.

The school had seven girls who were selected to represent the Golden Lions at the SA Rugby Girls Youth Week tournaments that were played during the June school holidays.

Three under 16 girls, Tshedza Netshienodeulu, Andani Nemangaya and Kefentse Molubi, represented the Golden Lions in the SA Rugby Girls under 16 Youth Week tournaments, which ran from June 27 to July 1 in Welkom.

Four under 18 girls, Leonie Maart, Sesihle Maguga, Ntombi Zwane and Khanyi Mdlankomo, were selected for the under 18 Golden Lions squad who played in Kimberley from July 3 to 8.

The school’s rugby coach, Mickey Oosthuizen, is very proud of the girls’ achievements. She also managed the under 18 Golden Lions team during the tournament in Kimberley.
