Titans name new team sponsor

The Titans has secured Multiply as their sponsor for the Momentum One-Day Cup Series and the Sunfoil Series (domestic four-day competition).

THE Titans are looking forward to another great season and together with that they announced their new team sponsor for the 2016/2017 season.

The Titans concluded one of their most successful seasons and are looking forward to giving their players the opportunity to shine again on the local front.

The local franchise has secured Multiply as its sponsor for the Momentum One-Day Cup Series and the Sunfoil Series (domestic four-day competition). The Titans announced this partnership on Tuesday, July 19. Multiply will serve as the team sponsor for the next three years.

The Multiply Titans have won a full house of domestic titles over the past two seasons and continue to do well in the one-day, T20 and four-day formats.

“I enjoy playing for the Titans and will do so for the next couple of seasons,” said Titans captain Henry Davids. “I have been training throughout the off season and with this new sponsorship I am looking forward to another exciting one ahead.”

“We do have an abundance of talent in our franchise,” said Jacques Faul, chief executive of the Multiply Titans. “We have quite a lot of young players who will be ready and who we groom for the future. The announcement of Multiply being our team sponsor is just an ongoing relationship with our near neighbours, who are situated just a few blocks away.”

“Out-going coach Rob Walters has left the team with an enduring foundation of solid work ethic and mind-set of success. He has done wonders at the Titans and has left us with a winning culture.”

The team’s first outing as the Multiply Titans will be at the annual pre-season Momentum eKasi Challenge against the bizhub Highveld Lions on Wednesday, September 7 in Soweto. This year the Titans will have to multiply their efforts if they are to take the trophy from the Lions, who remain undefeated in this challenge.

Shortly thereafter the Sunfoil 4-Day Domestic Series kicks off from Thursday, October 6. The Momentum One-Day Cup has a delayed start this year with the series only to start in February 2017.

Craig Townsend, head of Multiply brand and sponsorships said, “Multiply, as Momentum’s primary engagement platform with our clients, is very pleased to be able to connect with a wider audience to showcase what we offer. We look forward to a very successful partnership with the Titans and wish them a highly successful season ahead.”

“We have seen how sport has a way of unifying and bringing people together. Cricket is a great way for families to spend time together and we wholeheartedly support the fun and excitement that cricket and the Titans produce. We are excited for Multiply to be associated with one of South Africa’s finest sporting teams.”
