Easter fun at Turffontein Racecourse

Racing at Turffontein will be the place to be for Easter holiday.

TURFFONTEIN will be the place to be over the Easter weekend, on Saturday, March 26.

On the day, there will be free entrance to the races with a complimentary Easter egg given to each patron who comes racing, and they can stand a chance of finding a R5 000 betting voucher inside the wrapped Easter egg. In addition to this, a buffet Easter lunch will be served in the Furious Room and on the City Deck.

The latter two venues are advantageous places to be for both a bird’s eye view of the racing and to watch the Dubai World Cup in comfort.

There are not only three Graded events to look forward to at the nine-race meeting, but there will also be live big screen coverage of the Dubai World Cup, where trainers of the like of Mike de Kock and possibly Paul Lafferty will be flying the South African flag.

On the card is the Grade 2 Senor Santa Handicap over 1 200m, which attracts some of the country’s best sprinters, as well as the Grade 2 Colorado King Stakes over 2 000m, which is often used as a springboard for horses either preparing or attempting to qualify for the Grade 1 R4 million President’s Champions Challenge.

There is also the Grade 3 Sycamore Sprint over 1 200m, which is always competitive and is contested by fillies and mares who are blessed with speed.
