Fidelity joins Lions family

Rudolf Straeuli welcomed Wahl Bartmann from Fidelity as their new sponsor.

THE Lions Rugby Company (PTY) Ltd. is proud to announce, Fidelity Security Group as a Super Rugby and Currie Cup sponsor. The Emirates Lions jersey as well as the Xerox Lions Currie Cup jersey will boast the Fidelity logo on the left sleeve.

Fidelity Security Group, with former Springbok flanker Wahl Bartmann as its group chief executive officer, is Southern Africa’s largest integrated security solutions provider and the industry leader in protection innovation.

Rudolf Straeuli, CEO of the Lions Rugby Company, welcomed Bartmann into the Lions fold. “Here at the Lions we like to bring our own back home, just like we did with Xerox. And now one of our own sons, Wahl Bartmann, together with his company Fidelity, has come on board as a sponsor of the Lions.”

“The Bartmann family has been keeping the city of Johannesburg safe for many years and it is a privilege for the Lions to be officially associated with Fidelity. Throughout my playing career I played against Wahl – he always seemed to be in the other team – but I am very proud to have Wahl and Fidelity in my corner this time round,” said Straeuli.

All three Bartmann brothers, Wahl, Leon and Francois, donned the red and white of the former Transvaal in their playing days.

Bartmann was excited to reconnect his ties with the Lions outfit. “It’s a great privilege for Fidelity and myself as an ex-Lions player to be involved with the sponsorship of the Lions team. We are looking forward to a very successful 2016. We would like to thank Rudolf and his team for appointing Fidelity as their preferred security service provider to provide services inside the stadium during special events. The best of luck to the team,” he said.
