RESILIENCE Gymnastics Club, which is based in Robertsham, sent 27 of their artistic girls and boys levels one to three gymnasts to take part in various competitions last year.

All 27 gymnasts did extremely well at their first friendly competition in Kempton Park, where 13 of the gymnasts took places in the overall top three rankings and most of the gymnasts finished in the top 10.

At the Central Gauteng regionals, 11 gymnasts placed in the top three rankings, Tanielle Smith won her section and Joshua Felix-Southon finished second overall in his section. The majority of the gymnasts reached the top 10 rankings at this competition again and 25 of these gymnasts were awarded their Central Gauteng half colours for their achievements.

All the gymnasts qualified for the North Zone Competition or mini nationals and Tanielle finished first as champion at this competition.

Outstanding performances were given by the gymnasts, some of whom competed for the first time and only started training just ahead of the competition season.

A big thank you for all the hard work and extra training goes to all the gymnasts and their coaches, Roxanne and Tracy van Herwaarde.
