“Whackhead” Simpson appears at SA Blackball-Pool Champs

RADIO personality and funnyman, Darren “Whackhead” Simpson, was among the cueists from across South Africa who descended on The Big Top Arena at Carnival City for the SA Blackball-Pool Championships 2015/16 to compete for top titles.

Hosted by the Gauteng Blackball Federation, the event commenced on January 24 and finished on February 7. Professional cueists are competing in various categories such as men, women, u.23, seniors and masters. Among them is the Gauteng Central Team, which is made up of Zane Khan, Leslie Monting, Chris Pandazis and Basil Moonsamy.

Simpson, who has played pool and snooker since he was a teenager, was a participant in the championship on a wild card level and played on Saturday, February 6.
