Seniors keep fit in the South

Senior keep fit classes.

KEEPING fit is not only for the “younger” set. In fact, some of the South’s golden oldies probably exercise more than many of today’s youngsters.

Lorraine Manfred, assisted by her two qualified SASFA (South African Seniors Fitness Association) instructors, Hennelie Hodgson and Jane Soester, hold exercise classes at Renaissance Retirement Village on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 08:00 to 09:00. Jane also holds a chairobics class for the “not so agile” on Fridays from 09:00 to 10:00, and this class is rapidly expanding.

SASFA’s aim, as an organisation, is to present exercises in a relaxed environment. Physical exercise plays an important part in maintaining the health of the body. Just as important is social well-being.

If you are over 60 and interested in joining the SASFA classes, phone Lorraine on 011 432 3454 or Jane on 011 433 0717.
