Final countdown for Telkom KO

Two teams remain in the 2015 Telkom Knockout series, Southern based Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.

TWO teams remain in the Telkom-knockout series, Southern based Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Both teams advanced to the finals of the TKO, over the weekend, playing in two different derbies in the semi-finals.

Kaizer Chiefs took on Orlando Pirates at the FNB stadium while Mamelodi Sundowns played against SuperSport United in Pretoria. All four teams played on Saturday, November 7.

At home, Chiefs won the penalty shoot-out 6-5 after full-time score was 0-0 and after extra time no goals were scored. Sundowns made it clear what their intentions were when they beat near neighbours 3-1.

Amakhosi stand in goalkeeper, Brilliant Khuzwayo, delivered a superb performance to keep their rivals from scoring goals and put his team on the winners list.

Pirates, on the other hand, created better chances but were unfortunate not to convert and go straight into the TKO finals.

Chiefs revenged their derby the previous week to beat their neighbours in the South Pirates and will now face Sundowns in the TKO finals.

Sundowns on the other hand, played to their potential in the Pretoria derby in the other semi-finals match against SuperSport to cut out their spot in the finals.
