Champions determined to defend MTN8 title

Kaizer Chiefs will defend their MTN8 title on September 19.

KAIZER Chiefs will be going all out to ensure that the MTN8 trophy remains undisturbed inside their display cabinet for another year when they face Ajax Cape Town in the 2015 final at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on Saturday, September 19.

The mighty Amakhosi won the 2014 MTN8 title after beating arch-rivals Orlando Pirates 1-0 in Durban. Chiefs clinched the 2015/2016 Absa Premiership title on the same PE field back in May.

Jessica Motaung, marketing director for the Chiefs, believes the team possesses the necessary capability and desire to make it two on the trot.

“The feeling of winning the cup last year was indescribable,” she says.“I think that I speak for every Chiefs supporter out there when I say we want a repeat performance. Everyone involved with the club is working towards that goal and when that final whistle blows, we all want to celebrate.”

In partnership with Vodacom, the build-up to the grand occasion includes several exciting activities that stir up the passion and expectation among the one million-plus Chiefs supporters in the Eastern Cape.

The KC roadshow moves to Uitenhage on Friday, September 18, where fans will congregate in front of Shoprite at the KwaNobuhle Complex Mall between 12:00 and 17:00.
