Xerox Golden Lions face strong Steval Pumas side

On Friday evening all female supporters can enter the stadium for free as the Golden Lions Rugby Union celebrates Women’s Month.

XEROX Golden Lions will be out to defend their den when they face an in-form Steval Pumas side in their next Absa Currie Cup clash at Emirates Airline Park.

In the evening match, the local Johannesburg team will have to show their skills when they meet the Nelspruit side on Friday, August 14. The match will start at 19:10.

Head coach, Johan Ackermann, made one change to the Lions side that beat the EP Kings 51-14 last weekend.

The single change sees Sampie Mastriet bracketed with Anthony Volmink at left wing.

Ackerman has confirmed that the side has no severe injuries and that they are lucky to come out in force on against an upbeat team. “They (Pumas) have played together for a couple of games now and we don’t underestimate them. They will be coming for us, but we are ready,” said Ackermann.

Tickets are available from R20 at all Computicket outlets and at the Emirates Airline Park ticket office. In celebration of Women’s Month, all female supporters can enter the stadium for free on Friday evening.
