Kaizer Chiefs ready for their encounter against Orlando Pirates

The two big giants from the South will come face to face in the fifth edition of the Carling Black Label Cup.

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, the two big giants from the South, will come face to face in the fifth edition of the Carling Black Label Cup this weekend.

The local derby between these two teams will flair-up the pre-season preparations for a full 2015/2016 league which lies in front of them.

The Carling Black Label Cup will take place on Saturday, August 1, at the FNB stadium.

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates teams have been announced. These teams have been selected by their fans. Once a year the fans get the chance to select their players when these two teams play against each other in the local derby. The two teams will also have their respective “chosen” coaches on the day, who will select and field their team.

The fans, however, will also have a say in that they can substitute, on the day, any player who is on the bench and who they feel should be in the game.

“We know that they fans select the team and are delighted to see that our players will get a chance to show their skills before we start with the season,” said the head coach of Kaizer Chiefs, Steve Komphela.

Siphiwe Tshabalala has been appointed as the Kaizer Chiefs captain.

“We have only won the Cup (Carling Black Label Cup) once, but this gives us an opportunity to take on one of the best teams in the league and we are prepared for them,” he said.
