SPAR Women’s Challenge will once again attract the top elite runners in the 10km race.

SPAR Women’s Challenge will once again attract the top elite runners in the 10km race this year. The Pretoria Leg will take place on Saturday, August 29, starting at 14:00 at SuperSport Park.

“Spar is very excited to see the Pretoria leg of the Spar Women’s Challenge kick off with such a bang, because we know that once the race is officially launched, it is all systems go for everybody involved,” said Jerome Jacobs, Spar North Rand’s marketing director. “With a launch event as phenomenal as the one we just had, and with such a unique, evocative race theme such as ‘Stepping For’, we know that great things are still to come and greater things have yet to be done.”

As always, the race will offer 25 000 women from all walks of life the opportunity to partake in a 5km or a 10km race, and the starting points will be split as was done so successfully at the 2014 challenge.

Women will also have the opportunity to compete in the Grand Prix Series which the challenge has on offer every year – a series of five 10km races hosted across the country, which challenges the entrants to earn points based on their performances in each race.

This year’s group of brand ambassadors includes big names like Pierre Spies, Zoleka Mandela, Ivan Botha, Donnalee Roberts, Bouwer Bosch, Mapaseka Makhanya, Hanna Grobler, Annie Malan, Willem Botha, Gary Rom, Melanie Du Bois, and Jacques Blignaut.

Entry for this race will cost R70 for all licensed 10km entrants, R100 for all non-licensed 10km entrants and R70 for the 5km fun run/walk entrants. Entry forms are now available at Spar stores or online. For more information: www.sparladiespta.co.za
