Hard pounding action at Emperors Palace

'D-Day at the Palace' features an action packed bill.

‘D-Day at the Palace’ will have the boxing fraternity on their feet this coming Saturday, June 6, especially with the world championship fight between Tommy Oosthuizen and Robert Berridge from New Zealand.

The Box ‘n Dine will start at 20:00 at Emperors Palace.

Johnny Muller and Xolisani Ndongeni will be the undercards on the evening.

South Africa’s Ruann Visser will return to the country to show his class in the heavyweight division. The 24-year old who turned pro in America, boxed off four quick wins in Texas and the fifth one was a no contest bout. He has an amateur record of 16-0. Currently he trains with Harold Volbrecht and will fight Steve Shumba in a four rounder.

In the meantime, Kevin Lerena and Deon Coetzee have a cruiserweight fight lined-up seven weeks from now, also featuring Dowayne Combrink and Giovanni Bushby for the Pan-Africa middleweight title.

Hekkie Budler will only be seen in the latter part of September when he takes on local Simphiwe Khonco, the number six contender in the WBA and number ten in the WBO.
