Malajika claims SA title
Malajika was crowned as the new South African boxing champion.
RICARDO Malajika was crowned as the new South African boxing champion in the u.52 to 56kg.
The South African Youth Championships was held from Wednesday April 8 to Saturday April 11 in Welkom.
Malajika from South Hills Amateur Boxing club paved his way to the finals, when he KO’d his opposition in the first round in the semi-finals. He fought O Meyeliseli in the finals, which only lasted two rounds and he was crowned the new SA Youth champion.
He has been the former SA junior champion for the past two years. He is trained by Bully Hurford and Eddie Swart.
The SA team will take part in the South African National African Boxing Organisation tournament later this year in the Congo.
