Chiefs take on new kid on the block Edu Sports

The Nedbank Cup's last 32 matches are played throughout this weekend where the PSL clubs, SAB league and SAFA clubs meet on an equal base.

Taking on the unknown factor is always causing problem for the well known in sport.

Kaizer Chiefs will be facing new kid on the block in the Nedbank Cup last 32, Edu Sport Football club, coming from the Gauteng SAB Regional league, and is based in Tshwane.

The club won their place in the competition after coming through a preliminary round tie against African All Stars, who come in the division above them. The club is the second fourth-tier side to compete in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 2015, the other side being Mainstay United from Northern Cape.

“We know that the club is in the lower leagues, but that makes no difference to us, we will prepare for the match as we do for the other games. We will respect the side and know what we are in for,” said Head coach of Kaizer Chiefs Staurt Baxter.

“We are playing against one of the top teams in the PSL and we are also supporters of them in the league,” said Edu Sports FC, Head coach Bricks Mudau, “I know that it will be difficult to get the players to concentrate on the experience as they have never played against such a big team.”

The Nedbank Cup’s last 32 matches are played throughout this weekend, where the PSL clubs, SAB league and SAFA clubs meet on an equal base to determine who will go through to the next round.

The Kaizer Chiefs and Edu Sports FC match will be played at the FNB Stadium on Saturday February 21.
