Lions open account in 2015 Super Rugby against Hurricanes

Emirates Lions will open their account against the Hurricanes this coming Friday February 13 at Emirates Airlines Park.

“We have a great squad and are ready to take on Super Rugby in its fullest,” said Head coach Johan Ackermann.

Emirates Lions will open their account against the Hurricanes this coming Friday February 13 at Emirates Airlines Park as this will mark the start of the 2015 Vodacom Super Rugby tournament for them.

The kick-off will be at 19:10.

“The side is a mix of youth and experience. A lot of the players are in their second year of super rugby and are excited to once again be out to represent the Franchise,” said Ackermann.

“There is still a few players that can make the squad, I told them that they are on the brink of being selected. They just need to do a few things.”

Emirates Lions head coach Johan Ackermann has named his 23-man side to front the Hurricanes in the opening round of the 2015 Vodacom Super Rugby tournament.

In the meantime SARU Referee of the Year, Craig Joubert, paid a visit to Emirates Lions on Tuesday, in order to get them ready for the onslaught up front. He explained a few vital front row points to SARU Coach of the Year Johan Ackermann.
