Paul Kamanga from the South and Box Office successfully retained his WBA Pan African junior-welterweight title at Southern Giant tournament.
Kia Southern Giant tournament was held on Saturday November 22 at Klipriversberg Recreation Centre, where some of the best amateur and professional boxers displayed their skills.
The 21-year-old sensation from the Box Office gym, who is trained by former boxer Anton Gilmore, retained his title over 12 rounds in a very tight encounter against the 33-year-old Mabuza, who is the former South African and IBO junior welterweight champion.
In a bout that never rose to any heights, Kamanga was just too fast for the 33-year-old veteran Mabuza as he piled up the points, fighting off the back foot. Kamanga improved his record to 14-0, 8 KOs and Mabuza’s record dropped to 25-13-3, 16 KOs.
