Pirates looking to oust Chiefs in bid for another trophy

A victory over AmaKhosi in Saturday’s 2014 MTN8 final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium will be a special for Klate and his team mates.

The Southern-based sides, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, will take each other on for the prestigious MTN8 trophy. They will however take their derby to Durban, where they will play at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday night, September 20. The kick-off is at 20:15.

“We are used to playing big teams and it doesn’t matter where we play, the team is a professional outfit and they know how to go about their business,” said Head coach Orlando Pirates, Vladimir Vermezovic.

Their stalwart Daine Klate has some 13 PSL trophies under his belt and is the most coveted player in the Premier Soccer League. “It is not a problem to play in Durban; there is always a good vibe, but we have played everywhere and in the evening so it doesn’t pose a problem for us.”

But a victory over AmaKhosi in Saturday’s 2014 MTN8 final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium will be a special for Klate and his team mates. The MTN8 trophy will make its way to the South for sure.
