Kaizer Chiefs ready to strike

AmaKhosi heads into Saturday’s first major cup final of the season also flying high in the league.

Whatever the outcome of the coveted MTN8 final, this prestigious trophy will find a home in the South.

Both Southern-based Premier Soccer League sides, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have paved their way to the top to play on Saturday, September 20, the final of the MTN8.

The match will be played at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday night September 20. The kick-off is at 20:15.

Kaizer Chiefs up till now have been hunting for their first trophy of the new 2014/1015 season.

“We will be playing with our strongest team and are prepared for a high density game,” said Head coach Kaizer Chiefs, Stuart Baxter.”If the game goes to penalties, we will have our strikers to be on target.”

Bernard Parker, AmaKhosi striker, said:”I am fit to play and will do my best as usual for my team, if coach (Stuart Baxter) will give me playing time.” He has just returned from a lengthy injury layoff, but is hopeful that he will get the nod.

“The sharpness is not there yet though I am fit, able to last the whole 90 minutes. I wasn’t tired after the Tuks game, but sharpness is key. The way we play, we go forward so fast, and also our defending, we also press a lot and quickly, so I think more gametime will improve my sharpness. I feel good personally, with a game such as this. It’s a mental thing, I am ready if the coach decided to use me,” said the Bafana Bafana marksman.

AmaKhosi heads into Saturday’s first major cup final of the season, also flying high in the league, having won six out of six. The team will take on near neighbours and are hopeful to bring the MTN8 trophy to Naturena, Kaizer Chiefs Village.
