IT was fitting for the leaders of the log to walk away with the prime awards in the ABSA Premiership.

Kaizer Chiefs, the PSL Southern-based team, notched up the monthly awards for both coach and players. Midfielder Mandla Masango and Head coach Stuart Baxter scooped the ABSA Premiership Player and Coach of the Month honours for August.

Baxter and Masango will each receive R5 000, courtesy of ABSA, for their efforts during the month that have seen Kaizer Chiefs set the pace at the top of the log.

Baxter has guided the club to five straight league victories, conceding just one goal in the process. Mandla Masango has come into the team and flourished in an attacking midfield role, with his early season form earning him a call-up to the national team.
