The six regional winners out of an initial 48 teams arrived in Johannesburg to compete for the coveted Carling League of Champions trophy.

THE six regional winners out of initial 48 teams arrived in Johannesburg to compete for the coveted Carling League of Champions trophy.

They arrive on Johannesburg on Friday July 4 and locked horns at the Nike Football Centre, one of the best football facilities in the country.

The tournament started in the month of June in Gauteng and went as far as the North West, KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape and Western Cape before returning to Gauteng. It was a case of ‘winner takes all”, having the six teams giving it their utmost in an attempt to be crowned Champions.

Teams came into the finals well motivated and beaming with confidence as they attended a prestigious welcome dinner on Friday July 4. At the dinner at the Birchwood Hotel, players interacted with seasoned football legends in Cyril Nzama, former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs player, and Edward ‘’Magents” Motale, former Orlando Pirates player.
