De Klerk announces ticket package partnership

The Lions announced a new ticket package for their supporters in partnership with Sun International.

“WE are announcing a wonderful package which will suit our rugby fraternity to watch rugby matches at Ellis park,” said President of the Lions Kevin de Klerk.

Golden Lions Rugby Union announced their partnership with Sun International on Wednesday May 28 at the Maslow Hotel.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone in South Africa and a very good deal to buy and will also provide the rugby fans a wide variety of packages,” said De Klerk.

The Lions Share Test ticket Package featuring a number of benefits, including tickets to the test match between the Springboks and New Zealand at Ellis Park on October 4, is only one of a few deals that will be available. Rugby fans can also use all the vouchers or some of them, depending on their needs.

“We are grateful for this opportunity that Sun International has provided for our rugby fans, and hopefully they will make use of this great package. We want to thank Rob Collins, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at Sun International for this package that they have put together,” said new CEO of GLRU, Rudolf Streaeuli, at the launch.

In addition, this lifestyle package grants all Lions season ticket members and Test Ticket Package holders access to home matches for the remainder of the Vodacom Super Rugby season, the 2014 ABSA Currie Cup, as well as exclusive benefits at selected Sun International properties, including Sun City, Carnival City, Sibaya and Wild Coast Sun.

The ticket package includes tickets to the remainder of the Vodacom Super Rugby and Absa Currie Cup matches, as well as the big test match SA vs. NZ on October 4 at Ellis Park Stadium.

The Lions Share Test Ticket Packages are currently available at R1 050 or R1 500, with parking and include tickets to the following matches at Ellis Park Stadium:

May 31: Lions vs Bulls (Vodacom Super Rugby)

July 4: Lions vs Melbourne Rebels (Vodacom Super Rugby)

July 12:Lions vs Toyota Free State Cheetahs (Vodacom Super Rugby)

October 4: Test Match between the Springboks and the All Blacks

All 2014 Currie Cup Matches at Ellis Park start from August 8 and 9.

The first 500 test ticket packages sold will also include a ticket to the SA vs. Wales test match in Nelspruit on June 21.
