Vhonani punching perfect power

Excitng boxing coming up in June at Emperors Palace with the Super Six taking place.

VHONANI Tshidaboni, who boxes out of the BRD Boxing Academy in the South, is steadily building on his boxing record.

Under the watchful eye of trainer/manager, Manny Fernandes, he faced Page Tshesane from Boksburg at “Malice at the Palace” Box ‘n Dine which was presented by African Ring in conjunction with Golden Gloves Promotions on Wednesday April 23 at Emperors Palace.

Both boxers started their campaign on a high note, but with Vhonani picking up the pace in the latter rounds. The fight was held over six rounds in the super-middleweight division eventually ended in a draw in their super-middleweight bout at Emperors Palace on Wednesday evening, April 23.

In the meantime Southern boxer, Paul Kamanga, stakes went up after defeating Adam de Moor on the same card. He could fight as often as three times before year’s end, according to Rodney Berman, CEO from Golden Gloves Promotions.

He fought De Moor in the junior-welterweight division and TKO’d him in the seventh round.

The world has opened up for the exciting young boxer from Box Office, who fights under Anton Gilmore and manager, Brian Mitchell. Berman said his offer of the winner fighting in Monte Carlo in November still stood, plus there are a variety of local tournaments to consider.

He also had words of encouragement for De Moor, saying that he had shown enough in the fight to indicate he can be dusted off and get back in the mix quickly.

“Paul showed a lot of promise, and what many people forget, is that he’s just 20 years old,” said Berman. “He’s growing and learning and will surely go on to bigger and better things.”

He added that there is a possibility Kamanga would feature on Jeff Ellis’ Box ‘n Dine event at Emperors Palace in July, coincidentally the same event earmarked for De Moor’s return, plus the start of the Super Six in August.

The Super Six is another brainchild of Berman from Golden Gloves promotions, and he is working hard towards the tournament in order to get all the boxers lined up for this exciting venture.
