CAF Associate Member Presidents arrive in SA for FIFA workshop

CAF Workshop was attended by various FIFA Presidents.

FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke officially opened the FIFA Football Seminar, that took place at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg from April 2 to 4.

The seminar provided an update in a number of areas such as technical and general relationships between CAF and FIFA.

Presidents, General Secretaries and Technical Directors from more than 27 CAF Association Members attended the seminar.

More than 27 Member Association Presidents, General Secretaries and Technical Directors have been invited and confirmed their participation. They are drawn mainly from the English speaking African countries.

Among the areas that were discussed during the three day seminar:

. FIFA governance reforms

. New regulations governing development programmes

. FIFA development programmes and services for Member Associates

. CAF development programmes (Club Licensing)

. Cooperation between FIFA and CAF

Other areas that were up for discussion included how CAF’s Member Associates can maximise on the Goal Projects and the role of the Technical Director.

The seminar opened on Wednesday April 2 with the workshop of the Technical Directors, followed by the bilateral meetings of the Presidents and Secretary Generals/Chief Executives.

On Thursday, the workshop touched on FIFA Development Programmes and how they can be used to grow the game on the African continent.
