South referee set for CAF duty

Daniel Bennet was one of the referees doing duty at the CAF league.

DANIEL Bennett from the South traveled to Egypt where he was in charge of the second leg of the CAF Orange Champions League encounter between Egyptian giants and defending champions Al Ahly and Al Ahli Bengazi of Libya.

The match was played at the Alexandria Stadium on Saturday March 29.

South African match officials will be flying the country’s flag high when they officiate in various club matches over the weekend.

Bennett will be assisted by Range Marwa of Kenya and Zakhele Siwela (South Africa), while Lwandile Mfiki has been appointed as the fourth official.

Victor Gomes blowed the whistle in the second leg clash between Atletico Petrolleos de Luanda of Angola and Ismaily of Egypt in the CAF Confederations Cup.

Stevens Khumalo and Johannes Moshidi ran the lines, while Victor Hlungwani was sitting in as the fourth official.
