Ladies bowled over by cricket

The first test between Proteas and Australia saw the "Miadens Bowled Over" event attended by 400 ladies.

The first day of the first test match between the Proteas and Australia was graced by some 400 ladies dressed in white.

The sixth edition of the elite “Maidens Bowled Over Ladies” event took place on Wednesday February 12 at SuperSport Park.

This successful event paid homage to the ultimate gentleman’s game, but the ladies in their stylised white and black outfits enjoyed the cricket to its fullest.

“The styling and structure of the Maidens Bowled Over event paid homage to the ultimate format of the gentleman’s game,” said co-host Ansie Fouche. “The traditional dress code for the event is white, to truly honour cricket whites worn during the test matches. The hat – or fascinator – is a must-wear for this event. We love seeing ladies turning out and supporting cricket.”

Throughout the day the MC, Edith Venter, ensured that all present enjoyed the day alongside the cricket field, and they were also treated to the appearance of the 2014/2015 Miss SA Finalists. The event was sponsored by well known entities and there was a list of impressive spot prizes.

The ladies were also spoiled by one of the non-playing Proteas and Australian players making an appearance at the tent on the day.
