Double header boxing

Christmas Cracker Box 'n Dine.

KEMPTON PARK – The boxing fraternity will be treated to a double header Box ‘n Dine when Johnny Muller takes on Vhonani Netshidamboni and Ryno Liebenberg shares the ring with Daniel Adotey Allotey.

Christmas Cracker Box ‘n Dine will take place on Tuesday November 26 at Emperors Palace. The last tournament of the year will be presented by African Ring in conjunction with Emperors Palace.

Muller has put his South African light-heavyweight title on the line against the up and coming Vhonani from the BRD Boxing Academy stables in the South.

On the other hand Liebenberg will be in an international contest over ten rounds against Ghana’s Allotey in the main supporting bout of the evening.

Muller gets the opportunity to defend his title which he lost but regained for the second time. He fought his best fight against Tshepang Mohale to regain the title. This will be a stepping stone for the future if he can successfully retain his title while Vhonani is the biggest prospect of the year. “I am going to give him the fight of his life to get the title,” said Vhonani at the Press Conference on Thursday November 21.

Liebenberg will also have a fight on hands with Allotey who was originally scheduled to take part in the Super 8 competition, but never got the chance.

Dowayne Combrink from Alberton will meet Simon Mokwena in the ring. Combrink is the Gauteng champion in the middleweight division and fights Mokwena from the Norman Hlabane stable.

In the featherweight contest over four rounds, new kid on the block Ricardo Hiraman will take on Thabo Mohlake.

Ronald Malindi will fight Vuyo Majavu in the bantamweight division over four rounds.

The boxing starts at 19:00. Bookings can be made through Jeff Ellis 078 457 3030.
