Resident unhappy about terrible state of pavements and islands

Just a matter of interest that I would like to point out as the municipality and park’s department will not give any feedback to the rate payers.

While we, the ratepayers, are pleased to note that the municipality is going about cutting the grass on all pavements and islands in the middle of our roads, there is a matter of concern that I am sure upsets all road users in Alberton.

Although the grass is cut, all the cuttings and other rubbish is just blown into the road and left there for all vehicles to ride over – no cleaning-up team.

This is very bad management and planning.

Secondly, they do not clean up all the grass that is growing next to the pavement in the road and next to the middle islands. This is why rain water cannot reach the drains for the water to run away. Examples of this: all the way in Hennie Alberts Street from Bracken Gardens shopping centre to the corner of Hennie Alberts and Michele streets. Also this intersection requires a major clean up. The second example is Overbury Street from Swartkoppies all the way up into Brackenhurst. Food for thought.
