There is a closer pay out point for Reuven residents

If pension money is drawn in full or in dribs and drabs at either Checkers or Pick n Pay there is no transaction fee.

With reference to the article on page five of the COURIER (July 14), ‘Pensioners want full pay’ Maureen Reeve says that a transaction fee of R17.97 is deducted from her pension, but does not state where or at which pay point, she experiences this deduction.

If pension money is drawn in full or in dribs and drabs at either Checkers or Pick n Pay there is no transaction fee. There is also no transaction fee if the pension is drawn at the pension pay out point at the Deo Gloria church hall in Alamein Street, Robertsham.

Also Adamma Mainstry said, “I don’t like to ask anyone to transport me to the SASSA office because of long queues I might have to wait there almost the whole day”.

Both Adamma Mainstry and Jerry Theys should be made aware that state pensions are paid out at the Deo Gloria Church, which is a block closer than the Southdale Shopping Centre and within reasonable walking distance from Reuven. There has never been a queue at this pay out point. I usually go between 09:30 and 10:00 on pension day and I am always attended to promptly and politely.
