Shame on you Eskom and City Power

Schedules are done, councillors try and get information to the people and then it is wrong! Well done to everyone who is sending emails, SMSs, WhatsApps etc. Thank you for caring enough to try and help. But again Eskom, you charge the earth. Thank you for caring enough to try and help. But again Eskom, you charge the earth. I had a new meter fitted, paying around R3 000 per month. I switch my geyser and pool pump off at 17:00 until around 04:00 or thereabouts in the morning, and I am fed up with the incompetence and the terrible don’t care attitude!

We do not even use our lounge area at night as it is easier to use only one light, and we watch television in the room! How much more can we save on electricity, use microwave for many dishes, washing machine used only when necessary, even soaking washing in soap powder and doing short cycles. Boil water and put it into the flask, trying everything to save electricity, but do the people that receive free electricity care? The M1 has badly wired lights, again another sign of shoddy workmanship!

Can someone please respond to this email?

Many areas do not have these power outages. Is this where the most of the MPs live? Totally disgusting!

Seniors using candles, which is so dangerous! People on oxygen cannot breathe if they do not have electricity. Seniors’ lives revolve around television and even that they cannot watch! Many children are petrified of the dark and how do their parents solve this problem?

You put in solar geysers at old age homes and it is such a problem in many cases. People have leakages, water wastage (a commodity that is so very precious).

Daily people have to report these problems, and what happens? Nothing! Please jack up your service and also ensure that you sort out your meters that have already had to be replaced as it was not being read at the main computer and we had to pay average. My accounts were never R3 000. Incompetence!
