In response to Councillor Sydney Radebe and the article titled ‘Illegal dumping, non-compliance with by-laws in ward 124’ is nothing more than a poor excuse by the councillor.

Turffontein, Forest Hill and Kenilworth continue to deteriorate into a dumping ground, and yet you as a councillor representing the ruling party that controls the ward, the ruling party that controls the city, the province and South Africa, you can’t get it right.

If you can name all the intersections where dumping occurs, while the problem persists and is growing unabatedly, then clearly you are failing to address the problem. There are slum and hi-jacked houses on every street, and they contribute to the crime and filth.

What have you done about them, or will you also simply name them and point them out? Where are the council inspectors you are supposed to manage to do this?

Simply warning people you are going to take action is laughable, no one will take any notice, how do you fine faceless transgressors? In past editions you warned people about the same thing. This is the worst state the ward has ever been in, you should recuse yourself as councillor.
