I am absolutely shocked, disgusted and disappointed at the letter from Manny de Freitas DA, responding to the move by Ms Beverley Turk from the DA to the ANC. Referring to this lady as “rubbish” is insulting, unnecessary and abusive, whether we agree with her move or not.
I contacted Sergio dos Santos, DA (Ward 54), months ago regarding a noise problem I have with a neighbouring church. He was going to get back to me once he had been to see them, and was also going to contact me for alternate contact numbers should I have needed to use it. I have tried to contact him since via email and SMS, and have never had the courtesy of a reply – so is he also going to have a letter printed advertising his work ethic or performance, or are you going to wait for him to leave the DA? I do not even know what he looks like, that is how well he works in our area. Every time I have knocked on Bev Turk’s door, even though she was not the councillor for our area, I got a positive response.
On a daily basis I am more and more confused as to who to vote for in the coming election, and this kind of letter from a top DA member pushes my decision even further away. Did Ms Turk need to move because of this kind of treatment from a colleague? That is a question I need to ask. Thirteen years is a long time for any company or organisation to put up with a lazy inefficient person, so why was she not asked to leave a long time ago? Good luck to you Ms Turk, I trust your decision will make you happy, and allow you to make the differences in the community you would like to see.
I am going to post this letter on the social networks with copies of both the front page of the COURIER and Mr De Freitas’s letter, and I am also sending a copy to the DA head offices, and wait in anticipation for the response.
