JOBURG SOUTH – ANC Mzala Branch would like to take this opportunity to bid farewell to one of Africa’s Greatest son’s and also thank the Mandela family for sharing with us such a wonderful gift.

As we bid farewell to this tower, teacher and inspirer to the world we will cherish what he believed in “truth and reconciliation”. While facing the death penalty in what became known as the Rivonia Trial in he was never bitter in his own words to the court from the Dock’ on 20 April 1964:

“I have fought against white domination, and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities. It is an ideal which I hope to live for and to achieve. But if needs be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die.”

When Revolutionary songs are sang about the beautiful Angola, Beautiful Cuba we will sing LONG LIVE NELSON MANDELA, we shall never forget you, LONG LIVE NELSON MANDELA.

Cde Nelson Mandela like Che Guevara fought for freedom and against all forms of oppression in their countries and globally, brave and courageous soldier, patriot and internationalist who were true revolutionary guided by great feelings of love for their people, an outstanding feature of all genuine people’s revolutionaries.

When Nelson Mandela was called by his people: “Nelson Mandela! Sabela uya bizwa! Uyabizwa! Ama Gerila! Sabela uya bizwa! Uyabizwa!” he responded.

Thank you for dedicating your life so that many lives may live – in freedom, in justice, fairness and in love.
