Release the brakes

If your mindset is not right, nothing will work right for you.

“I don’t put the truth in a cage. I try to find a way to release it.” – William Hurt

You may have been wondering as to why your hard work is not yielding intended results. You have changed friends, jobs, houses, churches, etc. Yet, nothing seems to be working right for you.

Every day, you are going to a job that you hate so much and yet you are praying that you don’t get fired. The same thing may be happening in other areas of your life. If you are working on a movie, you need to come up with a script, which is a blueprint of what, how and when things have to be done. You start sourcing for resources based on your script or blueprint. My question to you is, what if your script is wrong? The actors or resources may be of world-class quality but because they are wrongly used, they won’t perform well. Also, you may have the wrong actors just to fit your wrong script. This keeps you busy and leaves you exhausted without anything meaningful to show for it.

The script in this regard refers to the mindset. If your mindset is not right, nothing will work right for you. Your mindset is the one putting brakes on your progress. I have come across so many people who have attended world-class seminars and conferences, read almost all the books on success and some have acquired top academic qualifications and yet, no meaningful progress except talking about the theory they have acquired which has not been put to use.

Even though you have all the intentions to move forward, but your one foot is on the brakes. Your life won’t start when you acquire certain things or status, it started the very first day you were born. It’s time to release your brakes.
