The four life-changing Ds

The following four Ds positively changed my life and can surely change yours too. Let’s go:

1. Disgust – One Friday evening in May 2011, I took my family out for movies and dinner. When we were ten minutes into the movie, I received a call from work about a machine breakdown. I had to make a critical decision. I missed out on quality time with my family. When I came back two and half hours later, their appetite had gone down the tube and they were freezing cold while waiting for me. I was so disgusted by this as it had happened a few times before and this time I said: “Enough is enough; I have had it; I am sick and tired of being sick tired.”

2. Decision – I took a decision that I was never going to let my family down again in that way. I resigned a week later and that was my way out. This step is about taking action, not talking and making threats anymore. I had done it enough times already.

3. Desire – I wanted to start my own business but didn’t have courage. One thing about desire is that it waits for the trigger, something to happen. That thing can be a song, lyrics, a movie, a talk with someone, anger, a seminar, a fight, a sermon, etc. So always welcome all experiences in life as they carry that life changing moment.

4. Determination – This is promising yourself, you will never give up. Nothing can resist human will. This is saying ‘I will do it or die’. This is doing whatever it takes (legally of course) to get what you want.
