The Bag Lady

What's The Bag Lady up up to this past week?

Isn’t it lovely to be able to look forward to things, be it a birthday, a wedding, a family gathering, the birth of a baby, the first day of spring and other special occasions. Well, on that note, it’s only 21 weeks to Christmas. Just saying!

Looking good

I went to Alberton City last week to check out Mr Price Home. The store is really well-laid out with some great bargain buys. A teen’s dream will definitely be the new duvet covers in black, grey and white with a touch of red accessories.

For R500 you can buy a duvet cover set, a scotty dog lamp set, printed cushion and a WOW sign, well it actually all comes to R510.  Now how’s that for a brand new look bedroom which every teen will love, boys especially.

Healthy option

Nu leaf opened a year ago and when I popped in last week to purchase a few “healthy goods” it was great to see the shop thriving and about to expand with a visiting homeopath once a week and a massage therapist (bookings only). Owner Daksha Kalyan is friendly and assists you with her knowledge of health goods. She now stocks Nattrend oils (prickly pear, apricot kernel and coriander) as well as pure oils for salads. Also new in-store is a range of Sanotint shampoos and hair dyes, paraben free, prefect for everyone but even more so for cancer patients who find they can’t use normal hair dyes and some hair products. Nu Leaf stocks a wide range of banting products including coconut and almond flours, flaxseed powder and Superlite Shirataki Noodles. Protein powders are also available as are sugar free sweets and chocolates. Try the nut butters which include almond and macadamia, from R64 for a 375g jar, on a slice of gluten free bread. Also stocked are vegetarian soya products for all the Hindus who are fasting.

Bouquet of the Week

Hilda Theck wishes to give a bouuet to ShaTopia Tea Garden & Coffee Haven,42 Rae Frankel Street, Brackenhurst. “I enjoyed a beautiful morning tea and breakfast with friends there recently. Sha made us feel so welcome and her staff went out of their way to make our morning special. The breakfasts were really scrumptious. Well worth a visit.”

That’s it for this week. Shop till you drop!
