Are you giving your power away?

Most people forget to live their lives and engage in this act I call CBCing

“We are what we repeatedly do, excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.” – Aristotle

Excellence requires a lot of time and power. We are all given energy and power at birth, but unfortunately most people give them away on a daily basis by CBCing. CBCing means complaining, blaming and criticising.

Most people forget to live their lives and engage in this act I call CBCing, leaving them exhausted. Most people will give a thousand reasons why they are not where they want to be instead of giving one reason why they must be there.

I used to complain, blame and criticise people and things, about everything that was not going my way. One day it dawned on me that I was wasting my time, which is so precious, instead of taking full responsibility for my life. To achieve your goals and dreams, you must fix the problem not the blame.

Most people do the opposite, they fix the blame and not the problem and they feel good about it and celebrate. “Yes I am right and you are wrong,” they say, but, sadly, the problem remains unsolved. Taking full responsibility is not punishing yourself, but taking full control of your life. It’s easy to blame Eskom, the government, the economy, weather conditions, parents, your partner, your manager, your company, company policies and the list goes on and on. So please, watch out over what you spend most of your time doing as it leads to a habit (good or bad).

So, how many times have you complained, blamed and criticised just today only? Or have you taken full responsibility for your life leading to excellence? Please, be aware of this dream killer (CBC). You only live once, make it count!
