Don’t hate your teachers

Remember teachers are there to guide us.

When I was a little younger I used to be so angry with my teachers because they would shout and demand things from me so I thought they hated me!

However, now that I am older and a little wiser, I understand why teachers have to be so strict. It’s very difficult to get children to listen, and learn at the same time. Teachers have to answer to the Department of Education, parents and even to their principals, so when children become difficult and rebellious it makes their job very hard.

Now I realise that if we just pay attention in class and do what we are asked to, life will be so much easier. Teaching is a very hard job and takes a lot of patience and skill. I really appreciate teachers and only now, at 14 years old, do I understand what challenges our teachers face in the classroom.

Kids laugh at them, don’t do their homework and are sometimes very disruptive in class. When I see my classmates behaving like this, I feel sick in my stomach and very sorry for our teacher. So fellow learners, please start respecting your teachers, without them where would we be? Treat them like they are your parents and never disrespect them, because if you do, then maybe that’s how you are likely to behave to your own parents one day!

And remember, this is not the quality and character of a decent young person. So let’s get together and show teachers love and respect and most importantly, let’s honour them.

Until next time, stay motivated.
