Ward 55 tackles substance abuse with campaign
As the neighbourhood grapples with an alarming increase in substance use, local leaders and residents came together for a campaign aimed at prevention, support, and recovery.
In a united effort to combat the growing substance abuse crisis, ward councillors Stuart Marias and Rashieda Landis in partnership with the City of Johannesburg’s Department of Social Development, SANCA, JMPD, Nicro and the residents of Ward 55, came together for an insightful campaign.
This initiative aimed to highlight the impact of substance use in the community and provide vital resources for prevention and support.
Additionally, the campaign educated residents about the signs of addiction and the importance of seeking help.
This served as a beacon of hope in the fight against substance abuse and the impact thereof by fostering an open dialogue.
As the residents continue to rally around this cause, it has become clear that lasting change is possible when everyone works together, reinforcing the idea that everyone is part of a larger solution.
