Jackson informal settlement children’s camp thrills

The children sealed the camp with performances and exhibition to the sponsors.

Jesu O Bitsa Bana (Jesus Calls the Children) hosted a wonderful annual children’s camp at Jackson informal settlement from September 23 to 27.

Michelle Rawbone from the camp thanked their sponsors: AT Nurseries, Meals on Wheels Walkerville, Astron Eikenhof and Natural Heritage Family Farm.

“The children had a wonderful time on a jumping castle loaned to us from the Mataboge family. Because it was so hot we got a water tanker and sprayed the children and the roof of the church to cool it down. They made some wonderful things with toilet rolls, such as hand puppets using old socks. Lots of drawings and all the children got spinach plants to take home.

“The children sang and exhibited their artworks to all sponsors and the folk of Walkerville,” she said.
