DanceIt Studios in Glenvista, Joburg south, celebrates 40 years in the entertainment industry, a milestone reflecting its commitment to fostering dance talent and providing dancers of all ages with a supportive environment.

In a remarkable achievement, Joburg south-based DanceIt Studios, established in 1984, marks its 40th anniversary this year – a testament to its commitment to nurturing dance talent and providing a supportive environment for dancers of all ages.

Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, DanceIt Studios has not only survived but thrived, expanding its reach by opening a branch in Three Rivers, Vereeniging.

DanceIt Studios has 15 students who will represent SA in their green and gold Protea colours for dance sport at the International Dance Organisation’s World Hip Hop, Popping, All-Styles Battles and Street Dance Show World Championship in Skopje, North Macedonia.

“Competing on an international stage and getting my Protea colours has always been my dream,” said Alessia Lydia Chrisman, a 13-year-old DanceIt Studios dancer.

DanceIt Studios has consistently showcased its skills in various styles, including hip-hop, popping, tap and modern, at several dance events and competitions. However, its impact extends beyond the competitive arena.

“The studio regularly organises charitable initiatives, such as the recent Charity Walk held to benefit the TLC Children’s Home,” said Clarishca Viljoen of Dancelt Studios.

According to Viljoen, these events raise vital funds and foster a sense of community and social responsibility among dancers.

As DanceIt Studios celebrates its 40th anniversary, it remains dedicated to providing a nurturing and inspirational space for dancers of all ages and backgrounds. Its legacy is a testament to the power of dance to transform lives and bring people together.

The studio’s experienced instructors and state-of-the-art facilities provide a supportive environment for dancers to grow and develop their skills.
