Nova Pioneer Ormonde Senior excels at World Robotic Competition

Nova Pioneer Ormonde Senior students Bokamiso Hlapane and Unathi Jiyane, have qualified for national robotics competition that will be held in September.

Bokamoso Hlapane and Unathi Jiyane, students at Nova Pioneer Ormonde Senior, brought honour to their school when they placed third in the esteemed World Robotic Competition, which was hosted by Hands on Tech in North Riding.

Their impressive performance has earned them a spot in the national competition which will take place in September, where they will compete against the best teams from across the country.

With Bokamoso and Unathi at the forefront, the Ormonde senior team demonstrated remarkable talent and camaraderie.

Bokamoso said it is a wonderful opportunity to be part of the WRO National Competition.

“This great achievement has shown us that being dedicated to your work does pay off, and sometimes you have to dream extremely big and put in the work to achieve great results,” Bokamiso said.

The school’s robotics teacher, Zamantima Thela, expressed her excitement about the win and the upcoming nationals.

“I’m so thrilled that we will be competing in the nationals. I think I’m so privileged to have the dream team; strong in programming and strong in building. I’m so proud of my little roboticists, and I can’t wait to see what they do next,” she said.

This accomplishment demonstrates Nova Pioneer’s dedication to encouraging creativity and quality among its learners.

The school has no doubts that Bokamoso, Unathi, and their group will perform admirably in the next national tournament.
