Lumu Foundation needs help

The youth care centre needs help to continue charity work.

Lumu Child and Youth Care Centre is a community organisation based in Turffontein that helps disadvantaged children in Johannesburg south.

The centre has programmes to improve the livelihood of young children and youths.

These involve educational development and feeding and clothing the kids. The organisation also helps them develop their talents, provides essentials like sanitary pads and helps kids with disabilities and cancer. One can also adopt children through the centre.

Samuel Robert, the founder and CEO of Lumu, spoke about what the centre stands for.

“Our goal at Lumu is to support the next generation, especially those without support at all,” Robert said.

The organisation’s primary objective is to help children between the ages of 0 to 18, but they are looking to help the elderly and pregnant women as well.

The organisation needs help because it cares for many children and has insufficient funds to pay rent. The centre requires food, clothes, blankets and school accessories. Financial donations are also welcome.

For those interested in helping, contact Robert on 060 355 3588.
