SOJO urges Johannesburg south community to make an impact

The SOJO Business and Tourism Helping Hands Foundation and partners will collaborate for Mandela Day to leave a lasting impact on the Joburg south community.

The SOJO Business and Tourism Helping Hands Foundation and various partners will come together to support the south of Johannesburg community on July 18.

The goal is to create an event that will positively impact the lives of over 1 000 individuals through various services, including serving a hot meal, providing basic clinic services, warm showers, haircuts, manicures, encouragement, counselling, addiction advice, prayer and distributing food parcels, dignity packs, clothing and shoes.

To ensure the initiative’s success, the SOJO Helping Hands Foundation seeks the support of local businesses and individuals.

Specifically, they require sponsorship of food items, toiletries, dental care services, additional ladies’ hairdressers, nail technicians for basic manicures and pedicures for men and women, DJs and speakers, encouragers and Bibles for all ages, faith booklets and encouragement.

Children’s items include backpacks, toys, lunchboxes, juice bottles and stationery packs containing colouring pencils, sketch pads, sweets, and blankets.

Nicky Vakaloudis, the CEO of the SOJO Helping Hands Foundation, expressed gratitude for the support from local businesses and organisations such as the Meals on Wheels Caregivers Society, Keready Mobile Medical Clinic, MOMO’s Upliftment Centre, Thaba Eco Hotel, the Mall of the South, Gold Reef City, the Mount like Eagles Mission, Addicts Voice, Just Darling, Rotary Club, Resthaven Ministries, Legends Barber Shop Mall of the South, Epiroc New Concept Mining, Visions of Joy, Seeff Properties Alberton and Kibler Park, Unrestricted Favor Quincy Jacobs Foundation, iProp and Zee Flavor Fusion.

Businesses and the community in the south of Joburg are encouraged to join and positively impact people’s lives.
Let’s unite to spread kindness and compassion throughout our community and beyond.
