Margaret opens her home to the needy in Rosettenville

Margaret Cockrane requires help to continue aiding the destitute children of Rosettenville.

Margaret Cockrane, a resident of Rosettenville, has been making a difference in and around her community in the south of Johannesburg.

She has opened her home to the less fortunate people in her community of Rosettenville and surrounding areas like Oakdene, assisting with clothes, food and a place to stay.

Margaret mostly houses children of all ages and pensioners who have nowhere to go. She receives no government grant and does all her charity work with her own money. With no real income, she manages to house 24 people in her home.

She gives those she cares for clothing and a meal and does so on her old age pension, which she uses for her own needs and to help others.

She also takes the ill people in her area to the South Rand Hospital when she can, since she also has transport issues.

“I pay my own water and lights bill. Nobody helps, but I continue to help those in need as it is the right thing to do, and it makes me feel good,” Margaret said.

“Any help from the community would mean I can do more for the older people and the children,” she continued.
Margaret is calling on her community of the south of Johannesburg to help her continue her goodwill; by donating clothing, food or anything else she may need.

Those willing to help may contact her on 068 671 3045.
